5 Stars - Exceptional App and Unmatched Support!
I cannot speak highly enough about Checkout Buddy! This app has been absolutely instrumental in creating all the intricate customizations I needed for my small business. The app itself is intuitive, powerful, and incredibly easy to integrate with my Shopify store. But what truly set this experience apart was the support – it’s hands down the best I’ve ever encountered! Kyle was incredibly responsive, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was working perfectly. He even assisted with customizations tailored specifically to my needs. I felt supported every step of the way. I cannot recommend Checkout Buddy highly enough to anyone seeking custom solutions for their Shopify store. This app has really great functionality options! Really useful for creating custom prompts at checkout that I couldn't do with other apps. Kyle was really helpful and so quick at replying to me when I had questions.
Checkout Buddy unlocks the true power of Shopify's Checkout Extensibility without the dev effort. The best part is that it functions as a utility tool unlike most other apps that sell you on fancy marketing promises but then shackle you into opinionated workflows and annoying/confusing subscription plans. Extra points to Kyle for being ultra responsive with support and even squeezing in new features upon request.
While upselling and offering free gifts can boost sales, these tactics can be overwhelming or even intrusive for customers. If not implemented carefully, upsell prompts could distract from the main purchase or make customers feel pressured into additional purchases they may not want. This might lead to dissatisfaction, especially if customers feel like the checkout is too focused on selling them more products instead of providing a smooth buying experience.

I noticed your review is critical of upselling features in general and I would like to clarify a few points.
For one, the upselling/free gift feature is optional and used by many other merchants to enhance their business and customer experience.
If it is overwhelming that is understandable, but I believe that is up to each individual business to decide on if that is the case for them and how to implement it. The app simply offers the option to do so in accordance to Shopify rules, similar to the hundreds of other Shopify apps that offer upsells and free gifts.
I also noticed that your store does not have access to these upsell and free gift features because of Shopify rules that require the Shopify Plus plan to use, which is beyond my control. It has been noted this multiple times within the app listing that the app requires Shopify Plus to use.
It seems your review is more a criticism of the type of feature that Shopify allows rather than the app itself, or your experience using the app.
As the owner of this app I have spent the past 2+ years building this app alone, adding features like upsell and free gifts because other merchants specifically asked for it to help their business and customers. As such, I feel your review is unfair and I ask if you could reconsider your review.
